What our cloud & DevOps services cover

Cloud and DevOps services help organizations run software on modern cloud platforms and release it quickly and safely. Cloud work covers architecture, migration, security and cost management on AWS, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud. DevOps work covers the practices and automation — CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, containers, monitoring — that let teams ship changes many times a week without breaking production.

We design, build and operate cloud infrastructure for applications we develop and for systems built by your own team.

Goals we usually target: deployments in minutes instead of days, repeatable environments, measurable uptime, and a cloud bill you understand and control.

Signs you need cloud & DevOps help

  • Releases are manual, stressful and happen only once a month.
  • Staging and production behave differently and “works on my machine” is common.
  • Your cloud bill keeps growing and nobody knows exactly why.
  • There is no clear alerting — customers report outages before you know about them.
  • Servers were configured by hand and cannot be recreated reliably.
  • You are planning to move from on-premise or a single VPS to the cloud.

Cloud migration approach

Not every application should be moved the same way. For each system we recommend one of the common migration strategies:

Strategy What it means When it fits
Rehost (lift & shift) Move as-is to cloud VMs Fast exit from a data center
Replatform Small changes, e.g. managed database Quick wins on cost and maintenance
Refactor Re-architect for containers or serverless Apps that need to scale or change often
Retire / replace Switch off or move to SaaS Low-value or duplicated systems

DevOps practices we put in place

  • Version-controlled infrastructure with peer review
  • Automated tests and security scans on every pull request
  • One-click or fully automated deployments with rollback
  • Separate dev, staging and production environments that match
  • Centralized logging, metrics, tracing and alerting
  • Backups, disaster recovery plans and regular restore tests
  • Cost monitoring, budgets and right-sizing recommendations

How an engagement works

  1. Assessment1–2 weeks

Review of architecture, pipelines, security and spend. Output: findings report and prioritized roadmap.

  2. Foundation2–6 weeks

Landing zone, networking, identity, IaC and CI/CD set up the right way.

  3. Migration or buildVaries

Workloads moved or built in waves, each tested and verified before cut-over.

  4. OptimizeOngoing

Performance and cost tuning, security hardening, SLO tracking.

  5. Managed supportMonthly

Monitoring, patching, incident response and improvements under an agreed SLA.

Cloud & DevOps cost

Engagement Typical scope Timeline Typical budget (USD)
DevOps assessment Review + roadmap 1–2 weeks $3k – $8k
CI/CD & IaC setup Pipelines and Terraform for 1–3 apps 3–6 weeks $10k – $30k
Cloud migration Several applications and databases 2–6 months $25k – $120k
Managed DevOps / SRE Monitoring, patching, on-call support Monthly $2k – $10k / month

Ranges are typical for projects of this kind and are shared to help you budget. Your fixed quote comes after a free discovery call and depends on scope, integrations and timeline.

Cloud security and compliance

We build security into the cloud foundation from day one: least-privilege identity and access management, network segmentation, private subnets for data stores, encryption at rest and in transit, secrets management, web application firewalls, vulnerability scanning of containers and infrastructure code, and centralized audit logging. For regulated workloads we map controls to frameworks such as SOC 2, HIPAA and PCI DSS and use the compliance tooling each cloud provides.

Cloud cost optimization

Cloud spend often grows quietly. Our cost reviews typically look at:

  • Right-sizing over-provisioned servers and databases
  • Savings plans and reserved capacity for steady workloads
  • Auto-scaling and scheduling non-production environments to shut down at night
  • Storage lifecycle policies and cleanup of orphaned volumes and snapshots
  • Caching and CDN use to reduce compute and data-transfer costs
  • Tagging and budgets so every team sees what it spends

You receive a prioritized list of savings with the estimated monthly impact of each change.

Measuring DevOps performance

We track the four widely used DORA metrics so improvements are measurable:

Metric What it tells you
Deployment frequency How often you can release value
Lead time for changes How long code takes to reach production
Change failure rate How often releases cause problems
Time to restore service How quickly you recover from incidents

AWS, Azure or Google Cloud: how to choose

All three major clouds can run almost any workload well. The better question is which one fits your team, your existing contracts and the services you will use most.

AWS Microsoft Azure Google Cloud
Often the best fit for Startups and SaaS; the widest range of services Companies on Microsoft 365, Active Directory and .NET Data, analytics and AI-heavy products; Kubernetes
Strengths Mature ecosystem, largest talent pool Enterprise identity, hybrid cloud, licence benefits BigQuery, GKE, strong pricing for sustained use
Consider carefully Many overlapping services; cost control needs discipline Portal and pricing complexity Smaller partner ecosystem in some regions

We are not tied to any provider. If you already have credits, an enterprise agreement or in-house skills on one cloud, that usually decides it.

Backup, disaster recovery and business continuity

Outages and accidental deletions happen to every company eventually. What matters is how much data you can afford to lose and how quickly you need to be back online. We agree these two targets with you and design for them:

  • RPO (recovery point objective) — the maximum data loss you can accept, for example 15 minutes or 24 hours.
  • RTO (recovery time objective) — how long the system can be down, for example 1 hour or 1 business day.
Strategy Typical RTO Relative cost
Backup and restore Hours to a day Low
Pilot light (core services ready in a second region) Tens of minutes to hours Medium
Warm standby Minutes Medium–high
Multi-region active-active Near zero High

Backups are encrypted, stored in a separate account and region, and restored in a scheduled test — an untested backup is not a backup.

Observability and incident response

You cannot fix what you cannot see. Every environment we hand over includes the three pillars of observability, wired to alerts your team actually receives:

  • Logs — structured, searchable and retained according to your compliance needs
  • Metrics — latency, error rate, traffic and saturation for every service
  • Traces — request-level tracing across services to find slow or failing calls quickly
  • Uptime checks and alerts routed to Slack, Teams, email or an on-call tool
  • Runbooks for common incidents and a simple post-incident review template

Tooling is chosen to match your budget, from cloud-native options such as CloudWatch and Azure Monitor to Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog or New Relic.

How to evaluate a cloud & DevOps partner

Cloud work is easy to describe and hard to do well. These questions separate teams who run production systems from those who only build them:

  • Will everything be defined as code (Terraform, Bicep, CloudFormation or Pulumi) and stored in your repository?
  • Will the infrastructure live in cloud accounts that you own, with your billing and your administrator access?
  • How do they handle secrets, access reviews and least-privilege permissions?
  • What monitoring and alerting will be in place on day one, and who receives the alerts?
  • Can they show how a failed deployment is rolled back?
  • How do they report and control cloud spend month to month?

A good partner will be happy to leave you independent: everything documented, reproducible and understandable by your own engineers or another provider.

A typical first-year cloud roadmap

  1. Months 1–2: assess and stabilise

Review architecture, security and costs; fix urgent risks; add monitoring and backups you can trust.

  2. Months 2–4: automate

Infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipelines and repeatable environments.

  3. Months 4–8: migrate or modernise

Move or re-platform workloads in waves, starting with lower-risk services.

  4. Months 8–12: optimise

Right-size resources, commit to savings plans where usage is stable and refine reliability targets.

The exact sequence depends on where you start; teams already in the cloud often begin with cost and reliability rather than migration.

FAQ

Cloud & DevOps FAQ

Still have questions? Talk to a solutions architect — free, no obligation.

Which cloud is best: AWS, Azure or Google Cloud?
All three are excellent. AWS has the broadest service range, Azure fits organizations using Microsoft 365 and .NET, and Google Cloud is strong for data and Kubernetes. We recommend based on your workloads, team skills, pricing and existing contracts.
Can you reduce our cloud bill?
Usually, yes. Common savings come from right-sizing instances, reserved capacity or savings plans, storage lifecycle rules, removing idle resources and better caching. We start with a cost review that shows where the money goes.
Will a migration cause downtime?
We plan migrations to minimize it — often to minutes during a scheduled window — using data replication, parallel running and tested rollback plans.
Do we need Kubernetes?
Not always. Kubernetes is powerful for many services and teams, but simpler options like managed containers or serverless are often cheaper and easier. We recommend the simplest platform that meets your needs.
Can you support our infrastructure after setup?
Yes. We offer monthly managed DevOps and SRE support with monitoring, patching, incident response and agreed response times.
Will moving to the cloud reduce our hosting costs?
Often, but not automatically. Savings come from right-sizing, auto-scaling, reserved capacity and removing unused resources. We estimate costs before migrating and set budgets and alerts afterwards.
